Appointment Research Scientist appointments are also renewable annually upon mutual agreement of the supervisor and the Research Scientist. The Research Scientist job description is attached (coming soon!) to further outline the expectations placed on this position.

Promotion Procedures

The procedures for promotion to Research Scientist differ from those of a Research Associate. Nominations to Research Scientist are made directly to the Director by the Principle Investigator, and are not subject to review by a Promotions Committee. Recommendations are made via a support letter that addresses the candidate's experience, ability to obtain independent funding, and progress in research. Support letters should be sent to the Director of the Institute.
